  1. I don’t get why all þe people þink it said ‚porn‘
If you want þat, you can find it on oþer places on þe inþerneþ since youþube doesn’t allow porn

  2. You could not have possibly run out of physics topics, so why post about a language topic…? I could probably sit down and write out a thousand physics questions worth answering, but I am an English teacher, and I do not have the expertise to give an exceptional one-to-two-minute cartoon answer. Your handle is not „minuteEnglish,“ right?

  3. Maybe, but there were several hundred years where both coexisted. The function was similar to the Spanish „tu“ and „usted“ or the German „du“ and „Sie“, where one is used to address someone formally and the other informally. „You“ was the formal second person, „thou“ was the informal; as in German, one addresses Kings, teachers and other humans with power formally „Sie“ and „you“, but God is addressed informally „du“ and „thou“.

  4. Neanderthal ist German, not French. It’s the name of a valley in Northrine-Westphalia where the Homo neanderthalensis was found and got it’s name from.

  6. i guess its because back in the day they would spell words exactly how they sounded. like pronounce the the world OLDE and you would realize that it has an E sound at the end.

  7. I learned the answer to this.
Thou was for an individual where as You was plural unless addressing someone higher then it can be used as singular.
Thus Thou became informal and You formal
but these rules faded away in English and we were left with You.
It’s bit like in French how Vous is the same as Tu or Votre is the same as Ton

  8. I would love a math edition again, even though physics are great and even though the last math edition was not correct! It still brings up thoughts! 🙂

  9. changing the „th“ to a „y“ may have saved one letter’s worth of valuable space, but then why waste that space on having an „e“ at the end of „olde?“

  10. Dude i understand it. What i pointed out was that you did not understand buciallstar’s question and your response was only repetitive to what he said. Buciallstar stated (or atleast tried to) that the pronunciation of „you“ and „thou“ used to be exactly the same. But people slowly adapted a new sound to the character „y“ which again, used to be pronounced „th“.
So again, you only repeated what he was trying to say, but in fewer words. Making your „correction“ pointless.

  11. Yes, „you“ and „thou“ would have been the same exact pronunciation. So when they wrote „ye“ or „yee“ , they pronounced it as „the“ or „thee“. But not nowadays.

  12. No, that is wrong. „You“ was a formal 2nd person pronoun, while „thee“ was an informal 2nd person pronoun. Over time, „thee“ was dropped in usage, and in more modern english, the formal form of the word is always used.

  13. Surfs through youtube. Sees Porn. Thinks, how is this possible? Has youtube finally gone X-rated? Why does minutephysics have porn? Curiously clicks on video. Is now dissapointed. But learned something.

  14. Perhaps we should have the Minute series expand: Minute Linguistics, Minute Chemistry, Minute Mathematics, Minute Geography, and so on? Would definitely boost people’s general knowledge about different scientific realms they encounter daily. 🙂

  15. I agree, but why have it at just one minute, when it can be longer? FIVE Minute Physics, FIVE Minute Linguistics, FIVE Minute Chemistry, FIVE Minute Mathematics, FIVE Minute Geography, FIVE Minute History, and so on. Maybe not as many people will watch, but who cares about them? Adding time to the normal length of the videos will allow for a much higher quality of explanations and clarifications.

  17. Love your videos, a recently discovered there was a fourth state of matter, plasma!!! Couldn’t find any good videos explaining clearly what it is, so please make a video about PLASMA 🙂 thumbs up if you too wanna know more about it :D
