  1. It looks awesome. I remember holidaying in the hartz mountains near Bavaria when I was a young teenager and went on a mountain side wheeled bobsleigh ride. That was scary then and had to use brakes cus it wasn’t fixed to the track. Would be great to have things like this in the uk. Got enough high mountains

  2. @FireCracker3240 – It’s a Sommerrodelbahn – so only open in the summer, and there was no snow on the ground at this level in July (there was still some snow up in the top of the higher mountains, but not where we were)

  3. @ David Your vid is verry entertaining, has a fine sense of humor and is unique and authentic. No wonder it is so popular 🙂 ! I have recommended it to my friends and THEY ALL LIKE IT!
I suggest you contact the Mieders-Sommerrodelbahn, they owe you a lot of money for this super advertising :))).

    kind regards from Germany

  4. I think this is an awesome experience however forgive me for asking What would happen if a piece of debris or an animal would just happen to be in your path?
Sorry for being a Debbie Downer, just curious!
    Thanks for Posting!!

  5. There are electified wires covering most of the track length to deter animals. In terms of Debris, it will be no different to any other ride / attraction…the track will be inspected at the start of each day…I suspect for this kind of attraction the operators will have the first run of the day and check for an issues before opening.

  7. I suppose you be injured, like most high speed crashes…but like all those things, its about the thrill and fun…not the what if’s. Dont be so worried 🙂

  8. I did this in June this year thanks to this clip. First time I had to keep stopping as a family in front were going down like they had all day. Woman kept stopping on the corners to look at the view! God knows what would have happened if I had come whizzing round behind her. Anyway second time I waited at the top for ages before setting off making sure nobody was ahead and managed it with no brakes. I ached for days but what a laugh. Thanks.

  9. Brilliant – so glad that the video inspired you to ride it, and pleased you got the „no brakes“ experience…what a thrill!

  11. It is located in Austria, in a small resort called Mieders. The max speed is only 27mph (42kph) but it looks and feels a lot faster than that!

  12. im living just next to this coaster, and it already happened that a cow moved, although there are electric fences, onto the track and was hit. but no injuries on both sides.
No brakes as the video says isnt correct, you have an autobrake (the rattling sound in the video) alongside a manual brake so you really dont get too fast. The cool thing about this track is, that the track simply disappears in front of you when its going downwards 😛

  13. lol its so steep at some points, you can not see the track going down, and jeah…when you go for your first will brake, trust me

  14. Thanks for the additional info re the cow…amazed that no injuries resulted, to be honest.
No Brakes simply meant that I didn’t apply the manual brakes, and I know that the cars have built-in speed delimiters to maintain a safe top speed of 42kph, but of course that doesn’t make travelling at that speed „feel“ safe! It’s definitely the coolest coaster experience out there!
